Christopher Rees Wins
'Best Male Solo Artist'

WELSH MUSIC AWARDS 2004

After releasing his critically acclaimed debut album ''The Sweetest Ache' in October 2004, Christopher Rees has been awarded the title of 'Best Male Solo Artist' at the 'Welsh Music Awards 2004’.
The ceremony took place at Cardiff City Hall on March 1st 2005 but unfortunately Chris was unable to attend as he was half way across the Atlantic Ocean on his way to Toronto for Canadian Music Week. Band members Dave Stapleton (Piano) and Chris Sklavounos (Drums) picked up the award on his behalf.
"I'm gutted i couldn't be there to receive the award in person", said Chris. "I haven't won anything like this since i was awarded 'Most Promising Football Player' for Trostre Colts Under 12's when i was ten", he said. "But I’m honoured to be recognised in this way and very pleased that the public felt inspired and motivated enough to actually vote for me".
"The band and I worked so hard over the past few years to finish the fist record (The Sweetest Ache) and finally get it out there, so the award is as much for them as it is for me and I can not thank them enough for their immense talent and for sticking by me for so long".
"Obviously I'd like to thank everyone who voted, everyone who bought the album, everyone who has ever helped or offered their support and above all, those who genuinely listen and love the music".

With a second album 'Alone On A Mountain Top' in the bag and scheduled for release in June and a third album already underway, 2005 is shaping up to be another very exciting year for Christopher Rees.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!
